Is the sea still warm enough?
The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism's climate guide describes warm September and October days, cooler October evenings and a sea that generally remains above 22°C from June to November. These are seasonal patterns, not a forecast for a particular bay.
How that feels depends on you. Floating and looking at fish can feel cooler than an active swim, especially over a longer outing. Someone who swims outdoors regularly may be comfortable when another person needs something warmer to wear.

What changes as autumn arrives?
October sits around the transition out of Cyprus's long, dry summer. Check the local wind and sea forecast close to your visit: a pleasant afternoon on land does not always mean a comfortable swim.
